Never done {Moogle} before? Or just want to review some information?

Good guide: http://xivpads.com/?-Guides&Good_King_Moggle_Mog_XII_Battle_Strategy (And a lot of the information in there is repeated here)

Our "standard" Kill Order:
Pukla Puki the Pomburner (BLM) > Puksi Piko the Shaggysong (BRD) > Whiskerwall Kupdi Koop (GLD) > Furryfoot Kupli Kipp (WHM) > Pukna Pako the Tailturner (THF) > Woolywart Kupqu Kogi (ARC) > Ruffletuft Kupta Kapa (MRD) > Good King Moggle Mog XII (KING)

Explanation on kill order: Pomburner is a Black Mage, he does Pom Flare which is a pretty deadly AOE. He's first priority.
Shaggysong is a Bard, and he makes other moogles FAT. This is a buff that makes a moogle really dangerous, especially if its the King. Getting him down early is standard.
Whiskerwall is a Gladiator/Paladin, he can be a real pain and he loves to damage mages. He can heal himself and takes quite a long time to kill. We like to kill him this early in the fight, as it makes the battle easier. Once you've killed Whiskerwall, the battle is downhill from there.
Furryfoot is a White Mage, so killing him next is just to alleviate the ability of him healing others. Otherwise, he isn't much of a threat.
Tailturner is a Thief and he has an AOE MP absorb ability. Also can petrify someone. Very annoying and can easily cost a run.
Woolywart is an Archer and his key ability is Moogle Eye Shot. This can one shot a person, so having a dodge ability is helpful if you see a bulls-eye on you (or run!).
Ruffletuft is a Marauder… he does a very annoying spinning Moogle-Go-Round attack that he tends to spam. He hits hard but is much easier to face when it's just him and the King left.
The King has all the abilities of all the moogles you kill. So, going last, he has everyone's abilities. During the whole fight, stay away from him! He has Pom Flare (since you kill the BLM in the beginning) and can buff other moogles (even himself). But by the end, you're straight tanking him so just keep your eye out!

The flow of the fight is two stages:

Stage One – Kill the moogles as fast as you can! During this stage, a moogle comes out one by one. WHM are encouraged to nuke, as this is like Ifrit's nails– if any moogles are alive when the King is summoned, the damage you take from their Special Attack is great.

However, while you have to kill quickly–you have to kill smart. Hate is NOT reset on the Summoning, so if you were red when all the moogles die–you will have hate at the summoning and the kiter won't be able to pull them off you.
The best way to handle this is to use Chameleon or any hate reducing moves during the summoning or right before that Moogle dies. Remember: If the tank can't kite the moogles, you're almost ensured to lose!

Stage Two – During the summoning, everyone moves to the center. Buffs are reapplied, the Bard will Battle Voice for more HP, the WHM should apply Regen and Stoneskin, and any hate reducing abilities should be used. If the kiter is a Warrior, there should be a setup of Collusion on someone (either a Flare using BLM or Benediction using WHM).

After the Summoning attack hits the party, stay together as the WAR will Steel Cyclone or the PLD will Flash, etc. Then make sure to back away as the kiter tries to corral the moogles and kite them around the arena. Mages stay together (Watch out for the King, ALWAYS keep your distance from him!) and Melee go after the kill order.

Tips:
  • Stay away from the King! ALWAYS.
  • If you're kiting, make sure you stop so the moogles follow you (especially if you have a fat one). If you keep running all the time, they will cross through the map and start hitting people.
  • If you're a WHM, always be watching the kiter's buffs/debuffs. Petrify can destroy the run, so Esuna quickly.
  • If one of the moogles is on you, don't worry about it unless its a dangerous moogle like the GLD, MRD or King. Bring those moogles to the kiter and let them know. If they can't help you yet, then kite with them until they can help!
  • Stay away from the King! ALWAYS.

The most important thing is to watch your hate in the beginning, and follow kill order while avoiding the King (and before the BLM is down, be careful too). If everyone stays away from the King, and the Kiter isn't petrified, it is difficult to wipe. Everything else is simply basic battle mechanics (watching MP, killing efficiently, etc)

More importantly: Enjoy the Music!
